Headmasters teamed up with Cosmopolitan magazine to take part in their first ever #FashFest week from the 15th-19th September 2014. As part of their week long fashion and beauty week,  James Bickmore from Headmasters Mayfair and Jodie Papworth from Headmasters Soho set up a bespoke blow-dry bar at Cosmo HQ, treating  the team to blow-dry’s and trying out the latest SS15 catwalk looks. Think braids. Lots of braids.

To celebrate the end of #FashFest, Cosmo put on an exclusive Catwalk To Cosmo Fashion Show hosted by Laura Whitmore, with hair styled by Headmasters Pro Artistic Team. Guests enjoyed complementary beauty treatments on arrival including hair styling at the Headmasters Blow-dry Bar, whilst they mingled with celebrity guests and fashion insiders.

Headmasters Art Ambassador, Ollie Blackaby explains how he and the team achieved the catwalk look in 4 easy steps :

“The hair for the catwalk fashion show had to be practical and on trend and lucky for us as the hottest trend we saw on the catwalk for SS15 was all about the paired back, low slung  pony.”

  • Prep hair with L’Oreal Professionnel techni Art PLI and blow-dry with a Mason Pearson brush. Smooth hair away from the parting and face to the nape of the neck, carrying this through to the ends of the hair and keeping it super straight.
  • Brush the hair back into a low pony (making sure there are no bumps) and secure with an elastic band. I used Paul Mitchell super clean spray to hold the hair in place.
  • Take a small piece of hair from the base of the pony and again spray. Wrap around the base of the pony to hide elastic and secure with a pin.
  • Finally, using the palm of your hand, flatten any fly away hairs for a super clean vinyl shine pony!
