Celebrating creativity, craft, and the next generation of Headmasters talent
Each year, stylists from across Headmasters audition for a place on our Headmasters Art Team. Those who are selected embark on a year-long journey of advanced education, artistic exploration, and creative development called the AI programme. Under the guidance of our Creative Ambassadors, AI members refine their technical skills. They experiment with new ideas and build the confidence to bring editorial concepts to life for their end-of-year showcase.
Recently, we proudly revealed the newest members of the Headmasters Art Team – Miles from Headmasters Clapham High Street and Amanda from Headmasters Cobham. They both delivered outstanding presentations of their final looks. We couldn’t be more excited to welcome them into this next stage of their creative careers.

Miles describes the AI Team as:
One of the most creatively charging and refreshing learning experiences this year.
The programme challenged him to step beyond the everyday salon environment and immerse himself in elevated, conceptual thinking.
Throughout the AI Team journey, Miles explored the intersection of art, storytelling, and hairdressing. He explained that the experience “really pushed me to think and experiment outside the box.” His curiosity and willingness to push new ideas forward made him stand out from the very beginning.
Now officially part of the Art Team, Miles is excited to take everything he has learned. He aims to channel it into more visual, expressive work.
He shared:
I’m looking forward to honing the skills I developed in the AI Team and bringing them into a more visual and creative space.

Miles’ final presentation was a dramatic, cinematic interpretation of gothic romanticism. It was a look inspired by the storytelling and world-building of director Guillermo del Toro. With themes of mortality, transformation, and dark beauty, his work showcased his ability to blend emotional depth with technical skill. He created a piece that felt both haunting and exquisitely detailed.

Amanda’s year on the AI Team has been a meaningful and transformative experience. She describes it as a journey that stretched her creativity and encouraged her growth.

It took me out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed every minute, I can’t wait to work alongside my peers, especially teaching – it’s an area I’ve wanted to work in for some time.
For her final look, Amanda turned to the works of Gustav Klimt, particularly his early “Golden Years” and the iconic gold-leaf pieces of the Secession movement. She was inspired by the way this artistic group broke away from classicism. They embraced symbolism, self-expression, and the flowing aesthetic of Art Nouveau.

Amanda’s final hairstyle combined sculptural structure with softness and movement – a direct reflection of Klimt’s layered, ornamental designs.
Her colour choice – a deep mocha brown – amplified surface shine. Meanwhile, the cut used forward graduation, inverted layers, and a strong baseline to retain as much length as possible.
To complete the look, Amanda even crafted the dress herself. She mirrored Klimt’s intricately detailed approach and tied the entire concept together from hair to wardrobe.

Miles and Amanda will now begin their first official year on the Headmasters Art Team. They will work closely with Creative Ambassadors and support a wide range of creative projects, including:
Their growth, creativity, and passion are already shining through. We can’t wait to see how they help shape the future of Headmasters artistry.
