Central Saint Martins White Show – reset 2023, READY, SET

Art Team

In the vibrant world where fashion meets art, Central Saint Martins, L’Oréal Professionnel Paris, and Headmasters united to bring forth a stunning showcase that seamlessly merged the realms of creativity and style. Every December, the anticipation builds as Central Saint Martins hosts its annual showcase – The White Show. This unique event, a hallmark of the first term, challenges first-year fashion design students to craft a single look in white fabric. It stands as one of the longest-running projects on BA Fashion at the college, brought to life by the creative minds of first-year students in BA Fashion Journalism & Communication. This year, the theme was nothing short of inspiring: RE-SET: Fashion is our Sport.

In a seamless collaboration with Central Saint Martins, L’Oréal Professionnel Paris reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing young design talent. The partnership extended an invitation to Headmasters’ own Creative Ambassador Clare Hansford and Headmasters Art Team Members Edd Moss and Sean Sorensen – to lead the @lorealpro hair-team in styling the hair for all 140 students, each showcasing a unique look. The accomplished team comprised six stylists from L’Oréal Professionnel Portfolio salons and ten @lorealpro ID Artists, participants in a two-year education and development program for exceptionally talented hairstylists.

The hairstyling process involved preparing the hair with a diluted mix of Tecni.ART Fix Max Gel and approximately one-third water, offering pliability and ease of work, particularly for rebellious hair types. Afro models received special attention, with the use of Curl Expression Curls Reviver for detangling and hydrating without weighing down the hair. Fringes or ponytails were perfected with a mist of Tecni.ART Fix Design gel spray for that radiant, glistening finish.

At Headmasters, we couldn’t be prouder to be part of this remarkable collaboration. The White Show not only showcased the talent of the next generation of fashion designers but also underscored the transformative power of collaboration in the world of art and hairdressing. The event was nothing short of spectacular. We look forward to the next edition of The White Show, where new narratives will unfold and boundaries will be pushed once again.
